What is Invisalign??

InvisalignWHAT IS INVISALIGN?

Having straight teeth has many advantages… great smile (esthetics), healthier gums and easier cleanings, and less alveolar bone stress.

For patients who want to straighten their teeth but are scared off by the thought of classic braces,  there are now very good alternatives such as the very modern all-ceramic braces.  For those patients who are good candidates,  a high-tech invention called Invisalign is the next evolution of treatment.  Invisalign®  is a method of straightening teeth using a series of clear, almost invisible, removable aligners.

Invisalign combines the doctor’s clinical treatment plan with proprietary 3-D, computer-generated software to make these sets of unique, custom-made Aligners that move teeth in very precise increments.  Invisalign aligners are removable so patients can brush and floss normally which can help prevent periodontal disease and tooth decay.

Our offices in Keswick and Uxbridge are pleased to offer payment plans – typical treatment fees may start as low as $1800 for Express cases!!

Both Dr. Janice McMinn and Dr. Donald Stubbs are Board Certified Orthdontists who are also qualified Invisalign providers.  Dr. McMinn takes special interest in this treatment modality and has been licenced for Invisalign since 2002.  Further, Dr. McMinn is a distinguished Preferred Provider of Invisalign and Invisalign Teen in York region.

There are many General Dentists who are licensed to provide Invisalign treatment; however, for more complex bad bites a certified Orthodontist may be a better choice of care provider.   Successful outcomes with the Invisalign and Invisalign Teen product rely on the advanced education and experience of the treating doctor.  (The Invisalign company cautions practitioners with limited orthodontic education or Invisalign experience, who choose to use their product, should do so only after careful consideration of all the associated risks and treatment implications.)  To verify the specialist qualifications of an Ontario practitioner in your area, search the RCDS(O) website at https://ww3.rcdso.org/eIS/Clients/RCDS/ExtranetWebForms/RCDSDentistSearch.aspx
